North County Youth Association

With honesty, Integrity, and a passion for kids, we are here to insure the children in the core of north county have the opportunity for a successful start in education and sports, regardless of age, race, gender, family composition, income or community. In response to this significant disparity, The NCYA  was created to provide the sports programs necessary for Saint Louis County children to have an equal opportunity for organized sports and eventually a recreation center to enjoy after school, with longer hours in the summer and Saturdays.

Our Keys To Success

• Utilizing the school system to promote the sports program and recruiting team coaches. 

• Minimize field maintenance and facility costs with the school and city park systems. 

• Gathering and maintaining the City Council's support to provide scholarship funds for needy youth who want to participate in sports.

• Recruiting more corporate support for the sports program.

• Finding a building to host indoor recreations for our area youths (computers, ping pong/pool table, televisions, video games, lockers, vending machines, couches, tables and chairs)

• Maintaining a high approval rate with the area's parents and youth.

Who We Are

Van Swingler - President

I'm a Florissant resident, Husband and father of two. I have been coaching and mentoring kids for over 10 years. This has become my dream. With the help of GOD and some close family and friends, I 've seen this dream start to manifest before my eyes in a short time. I'm here for the long haul and hope one day to be remembered for doing great works in my community and for the youths of tomorrow.

Tia Bonnett- Business Operations

I was born and raised in North County. I have two beautiful children that motivate me every day. I started off as just a parent in the organization and then was asked to be a team mom. From there the passion for the organization grew and I wanted to help our youth by any means.
